Ben's Birthday
We celebrated Ben's Birthday this past weekend, along with my Dad's (2/18 & 2/14). We had a Valentine's Day heart hunt, like you normally do on Easter with Easter eggs. The kids did great, even if it did take them a long time to finally find the last of the hearts. Here's a few snapshots and video of the day. No cake though :(
That weekend we also decided to go to the park since Tio Carlos was down for a visit and I could finally roll down hills again post-baby. One of our favorite games since she was 4 was the "bury Leilani" game, and we did that. The first video shows her able to get herself out. The 2nd shows where we finally succeeded in getting her stuck. Once the camera turns off on the 2nd video, Ben pulled her out. She was near tears, and that was the end of that game forever.

Crash
At 4:50am, on Tuesday January 31st, Ben got into an accident on the 210 fwy. Due to popular demand, here are the pictures of the car after all is said and done. It was a little worse before it got hauled off to the 2nd tow yard, looks like they unbent a lot of the hood. Thankfully, Ben received only minor injuries, including 2 sprained knees and a chest contusion. We're expecting a full recovery, we can't however say the same thing about poor old Eustice.
Ben's had a lot of company during these bed-ridden days, and has improved enough to sit up for long periods of time. He is able to move around in a wheelchair, and due to improvement in his left knee, he can now bear some weight on it and hobble around a little bit (which is why he is standing in the pictures above). Here is a snapshot of life at home, since we've had Ben all to ourselves...

First Week Home
Mikayla's first bath... only a few days in. We got this really cool fish bath set that went with Leilani's old bathtub, so it really worked out. The little fish blanket kept her warm during the bath. All in all, it was a lot less painful than we had anticipated it being.
During that first week, we also had a visit from a few family members, but unfortunately we didn't get a lot of pictures :-(
We got more camera-happy when Auntie Bekah came by with cousins Titus & Silas. At certain points of their visit, Titus & Silas serenaded Baby M.
